With just one week until Earth Day Fort Collins, we are busy preparing for our booth at the event.  Earth Day Fort Collins, hosted by the Sustainable Living Association, will held at the Gardens on Spring Creek next Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 11am-5pm.

Stop by our booth to check out some innovative ways to grow your vegetables, and be inspired by the community-driven people and organizations the event brings together.
Don't forget to sign up to be a Citizen Planter, and start growing your greens!

Welcome to Citizen Planners' Blog. This is the place to come to learn about what it takes to make a community truly sustainable. Join us as we transform the City of Fort Collins into the most sustainable small city in the United States. Of course, we'll need your help and ideas on how we can best accomplish this.

First things first is FOOD. We all need healthy food to nourish our bodies and souls. Our first project, rightly named, Citizen Planters, launches in spring 2013, with a goal of raising 1,000,000 pounds of food to supply to the Larimer County Food Bank.

Citizens will have ample opportunities to contribute to this aspiring goal by container gardening, planting an extra row in their existing gardens, donating their garden ready yards, and so much more. Learn more about how you can help us feed those in need with organic, healthy produce this growing season.
